When Lizzan leads the Kothan army against these terrors, only to see her soldiers massacred and to emerge as the only survivor, she is called a coward and a deserter. Shunned from her home, Lizzan now wanders in solitude as a mercenary for hire, until she encounters a group of warriors seeking new alliances with the northern kingdoms—a group that includes Aerax, the bastard prince of Koth, and the man who sent her into exile. Though they were childhood friends, Aerax cannot allow himself to be close to the only woman who might thwart his treacherous plan to save their island realm. But when a goddess's demand binds them together, Lizzan and Aerax must find a way to overcome their painful pasts. Or there will be no future for the western realms...

This is a work of great scope, a powerful illumination of an enigmatic figure. Told from the point of view of an ancient shaman, this is the dark and mystical story of Mexico's greatest revolutionary general, Pancho Villa. Shedding the Hollywood mantle of the drunken, womanizing bandit-turned-hero, the Villa who comes to life in this extraordinary novel is part man and part myth, part visionary hoodlum and part brilliant general. A troubled childhood--marked by his father's early death in the fields and his sister's rape by a local landowner--and a prophetic dream propel young Villa through a period of lawlessness and drifting and into life as a military leader. The story moves convincingly through the events of Villa's life, showing him to be a man of fierce passions and moral conviction, a natural leader for the rebellion.

From a layman's point of view the author attempts to interpret some of the most misunderstood and misinterpreted Scriptures of the Bible in a layman's language so that they may be easily understood by those who seek to know the Word of God and so that they may not be misinterpreted by those who seek to preach the Word of God. He also attempts to show how the Scriptures are manipulated by those who seek to make personal and material gain from the Word of God at the expense of their own flock. This is in order that the readers of this book may understand some of the most important Scriptures of the Bible, teach them within the Scriprures own accord and for all believers to be aware of the manipulators of the Word of God hiding in the church of God exploiting the very souls they are supposed to save.

Living Waters: Baptism - From His Heart Through Ours by James Lindemann Summary

Baptism. Simple – and yet a most powerful and far-reaching action. Indeed, it overflows with a range of blessings within a new relationship with the Creator of the universe. We receive Grace and Mercy, and God’s Glory; we have His seal and “earnest” to confirm His promises, and are authorized to be Jehovah’s “Image” – His representatives – to this cosmos. We are adopted as children in God’s Family, made members within Christ’s Body, placed into His Bride (the Church), become citizens of His Kingdom, and are His priests to His Creation. We are born again, become new creations, are raised to be temples of the Holy Spirit, and bear the fruit of the Spirit. We are valued for the individuals we are and have our place as our Lord does His work through us in our world. This relationship is from God’s heart, He yearns to have with all humans, from infant to the aged. All we do is to have applied “the Water with the Word” in faith. And it is enough.

The Return of the Mother by Andrew Harvey Summary

Adapted from a series of lectures on the historical basis and current resurgence of the sacred feminine, given by Andrew Harvey at the California Institute of Integral Studies in Spring 1994, The Return of the Mother is a profound journey into the heart of the Divine Mother. In this comprehensive and groundbreaking work, mystical scholar Andrew Harvey unearths traces of the sacred feminine in major world religions—Hinduism, Islam (Sufism), Buddhism, Taoism, and Christianity—and in aboriginal and indigenous wisdom traditions. Harvey presents a scathing critique of the patriarchal distortions in religious history and doctrine that have obscured full knowledge of the Divine Mother, and shows how to reintegrate this vital aspect into the spiritual consciousness of humankind. The Return of the Mother offers a radical new perspective, balancing the historical overemphasis on transcendence by honoring the immanence of the divine in passionate engagement in the world. Only by cultivating a direct, respectful relationship with the transformative power of the sacred feminine can we alter our disastrous attitude of dissociation from nature, the body, sexuality, and the details of human life, and generate the energy and compassion needed to reverse the course of destruction we have set the planet—and all of life—hurtling toward. In lively question-and-answer sections, Harvey further illuminates these vital issues and takes a strong stand against our dependence on “gurus” and “masters,” proposing instead an egalitarian model of spiritual community based on intimate groups of mutually supportive guides and friends. The Return of the Mother is an eloquent and passionate call for all of us to rediscover and reclaim an authentic and empowering relationship to the divine, and recreate a sacred life-in-the-world.

The Kingdom Study Bible in English by Max L Day Summary

What is a "Study Bible"? Is it a Bible version with lots of pretty pictures and side stories that distracts you from what the Bible is actually saying and what it means? Or is it a Bible version that will actually help you to understand what the Bible is saying and truly means? I submit to you that the Kingdom Study Bible Version is the only true Study Bible, because it is the latter rather than the former. If you want to learn about those things in the pretty pictures and sidebars, I believe that you would be much better served by investing in other Bible tools that are already available: Hebrew and Greek grammars, concordances, Biblical Backgrounds, etc. But you cannot combine all of those tools in a Bible, because what you end up with is something that distracts your attention from the Bible onto other things. The headings of the Kingdom Study Bible are the themes of the Divisions, Volumes, Books, Parts, Chapters, Sections, Paragraphs, and Subparagraphs. This is one of the keys to understanding how this Bible version is arranged. The Bible has its own high-level outline; every Volume has its own outline; every Book has its own outline; and every Chapter has its own outline. The Kingdom Study Bible has approximately 306 outlines, of every part of the Bible! No other study bible even comes close. And, unlike all other Bible versions and arrangements, these outlines show the true and correct outline of those Volumes, Books, and Chapters (including their internal subdivisions). How does it do it? Through the only true and correct arrangement of the Bible that is guided by the Golden Ratio design. This arrangement is brand new to us; but it has always been there in the Scriptures, because God put it there. This requires some explanation to understand, so you must read the Preface of the Kingdom Study Bible as a starting point. I have also provided a wealth of Bible studies on my website at https://www.phibible.org/info/GoldenRatioBibleStudies/EnglishStudiesMenu.html to help you understand how it works and why it came from the Lord. The Golden Ratio design is not the Gospel! It is like the fingerprints of God upon his Word, that demonstrate his perfect, guiding hand upon the original human writers of the Bible text in such a way that the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures cannot be denied. And no other Bible version comes even close in the quality of their outlines, since those other outlines are typically very general and are not the true themes of the Bible text. A proper theme is the content of a Bible portion that is "boiled down" into a single sentence, that gives an accurate summary of what that Bible portion actually teaches. This is where the Kingdom Study Bible really shines, and where the other study bibles fall short. There is much more than I have space for here: see https://www.phibible.org for more information.

Gender and Apocalyptic Desire by Brenda E. Brasher,Lee Quinby Summary

The female body has been an object of oppression and control throughout history. 'Gender and Apocalyptic Desire' exposes the often-hidden links between the struggles of women and the conflict of good versus evil. The essays examine the collisions between feminist and apocalyptic thought, the ways in which apocalyptic belief functions as bodily discipline and cultural practice, and how some currents of apocalyptic desire can enable women's equality. A wide range of issues are examined, from anti-abortion terrorism to the stigmata of Christ and visions of Mary.

Imatation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus by Peter Joseph Arnoudt,Aeterna Press Summary

THE most ancient special devotion of Christians is doubtless that of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Son of God. The holy Sacraments and the other objects of devotion did not yet exist, when the Blessed Virgin Mary found her delight in worshiping the most Sweet Heart of her Jesus; already did Holy Joseph clasp that Heart to his bosom; even then were the Shepherds and the Magi, Simeon and Anna, the Apostles and the Disciples attracted to It and by It: they longed to show to It the affection and love of their hearts. But after Jesus had called upon all men to learn, “that He is meek and humble of Heart;” after He had drawn from the treasury of His Heart that best of all gifts, the Sacrament of the Most Blessed Eucharist; lastly, after He had willed that, upon the Cross, His Heart should be opened, and continue open, as a place of refuge for all; then was devotion to His Divine Heart wonderfully increased. Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis by Anne Rice Summary

From Anne Rice, conjurer of the beloved best sellers Interview with the Vampire and Prince Lestat, an ambitious and exhilarating new novel of utopian vision and power "In my dreams, I saw a city fall into the sea. I heard the cries of thousands. I saw flames that outshone the lamps of heaven. And all the world was shaken . . ." --Anne Rice, Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis At the novel's center: the vampire Lestat de Lioncourt, hero, leader, inspirer, irresistible force, irrepressible spirit, battling (and ultimately reconciling with) a strange otherworldly form that has somehow taken possession of Lestat's undead body and soul. This ancient and mysterious power and unearthly spirit of vampire lore has all the force, history, and insidious reach of the unknowable Universe. It is through this spirit, previously considered benign for thousands of vampire years and throughout the Vampire Chronicles, that we come to be told the hypnotic tale of a great sea power of ancient times; a mysterious heaven on earth situated on a boundless continent--and of how and why, and in what manner and with what far-reaching purpose, this force came to build and rule the great legendary empire of centuries ago that thrived in the Atlantic Ocean. And as we learn of the mighty, far-reaching powers and perfections of this lost kingdom of Atalantaya, the lost realms of Atlantis, we come to understand its secrets, and how and why the vampire Lestat, indeed all the vampires, must reckon so many millennia later with the terrifying force of this ageless, all-powerful Atalantaya spirit.
